90 Days Thru the Bible, Blog

Monday Minutes

In the distance

It’s that time again…Monday!

I hope you all had a good weekend.  I was so blessed to be in two services yesterday.  Nursery rotation will get better, just have some of our workers off sick, etc.

Last week we read through a number of the smaller epistles that Paul wrote.  They are some of my favorite books.  I have fond memories of the classes in college I took on them.   I will never forget Pastor Baker razzing one of the guys (whose wife was pregnant) about naming their child Epaphroditus.  Still brings a smile to my face every time I see the name.

And then in Philippians I was reading about the power of the resurrection and thinking ahead to Resurrection Sunday.   I have a friend who always does some type of Bible study in the weeks preceding Easter to prepare her heart for this important day.  Do you do something similar?  I’d love to hear your thoughts.

I’m always very convicted at the end of Philippians when Paul speaks to the two women who were having an argument.  I do not want to be the cause of division in my church and I hope that I can keep my tongue in check enough to keep that from happening.

1 Thessalonians is always one book that I enjoy going through as well.  One of my teachers at college had a rule when teaching this book that if you memorized all of 1 Thessalonians you would get an automatic A in the class.  Ever one to rise the challenge (and get out of a 7:30 am class), I took it on. It took me about 2 months of constant work but I did get it memorized.  Obviously, I can’t quote it today, but it is familiar enough that I can anticipate what is coming next and I like that feeling.  I’m hoping when I’m done with Colossians it will be the same in years to come.

We’re continuing on this week with Timothy, Titus, Philemon, Hebrews and more.  I can’t believe we are almost finished.  90 Days Thru the Bible will actually take us up to Easter Sunday.

If you’re following this regimen of Bible reading I’d love to hear what you are doing in your devotions each day?   Every one has very different methods and I like trying new ideas out so that I don’t get bogged down in God’s Word.  It should remain exciting to us.  Something we delight in.  Is anyone following along with Good Morning Girls Luke study?  They’re getting ready to jump into chapters 9-16.  Would love to hear what you are learning in that study.

Well…lots of projects for this week.  Might take some pictures and share them later on.

Happy Monday Everyone!
