90 Days Thru the Bible, Blog

Monday Bible

Well, I am late posting today.  Busy morning and soon time for a nap!  =)

How is your daily time with God going?  We are almost to the end of January, can you believe it?  Almost a whole month into a new year.  Stay on track.  Remember that God comes first!  Don’t neglect this important area of your life.

I am still working my way through the Bible in 90 days.  We are into Chronicles this week.  Almost half way through the Old Testament and almost 1/3 of the way through the study.  Amazing, really.  I love these books from Joshua down…so much history.  God wanted us to know about the failings of His people to help see that He is still in control.  He doesn’t want us to be puppets but He can still use our faults for good.   The Israelites seemed to go through a horrible cycle over and over of following God, falling away from God, being enslaved, and crying out to Him for help.   We can choose to NOT follow the same pattern by staying in His word, being faithful in church, and keeping up a right relationship with Him through prayer.

I was so blessed yesterday through our Sunday services.  Visitors, praises, and great preaching couldn’t ask for better.  I also got to watch the movie “Amazing Love: The Story of Hosea” and I have to tell you that it is a must-see.   I do not usually recommend movies or do movie reviews because people are vastly different when it comes to what they watch.   This movie, though, was very well produced.  It was even filmed on location in Nazareth!  You get to see where Jesus grew up!!!!  Of course, Jesus is not portrayed in this movie as it is based on an Old Testament story of unconditional love.  The acting is phenomenal from the present-day teens to the Bible characters.   For a Christian movie this is definitely one of the best.  And, I appreciated the portrayal of Gomer, Hosea’s wife.  Most of us understand what her background is but the movie kept it away from sexual undertones (or overt ones) and really was the perfect family-type movie.  You would not be embarrassed for you child to see this.  I don’t foresee any awkward questions coming from it.   Overall, it is one that I want to add to my movie collection (my very small movie collection, lol).

Well, I think that is it for this wonderfully sunny, Monday morning.  Have a wonderful week and remember to praise the Lord.

Also, if you’re looking for a way to help your marriage before valentines you should head over to Courtney’s blog, Women Living Well, where she is hosting a “Be My Valentine” Marriage Challenge.  I’m looking forward to having some guest posts in February to help us out with different aspects of our marriages, and this is a good way to get started.  I’m joining in and I hope you will as well.

For His Glory,
